Emma Jane Miller (Emily L. Manson-2, Capt. Jean Francois-1) was born on 27 November 1864 in Fairfield Co., Ohio.10,14,15
She died on 15 January 1928 at the age of 63 in Independence Twp., Oakland Co., Michigan.15
She appeared in a newspaper obituary on 16 January 1928 in Michigan.15 
Emma's obituary reads: "FORMER RESIDENT OF PONTIAC DIES - MRS. EMMA J. BERRY EXPIRES AFTER ILLNESS OF FIVE YEARS - Following an illness of about five years, Mrs. Emma J. Berry, wife of Alvin Berry, Independence Township farmer, died Sunday at 9:30 a.m. in the home. Complications of diseases are blamed for her death. She was born in New Salem, O., Nov. 27, 1864, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Miller. For the last two years the family has lived on a farm and prior to that spent eight years in Pontiac. Surviving are the husband, and seven children: Edward of Pontiac; Allan, Detroit; Russell, Clarkston; Viola at home; Clemens, Flint; Clarence of Pontiac; and Mrs. Clarence Gilbert of Clarkston, and one sister, Mrs. Joseph Bedell of Dillon, Neb., Funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Ogden Funeral Home in Clarkston, with Rev. Edwin Stephens in charge and burial in Oak Hill cemetery, Pontiac."

(son of Samuel S. Berry and Rachel N. Grubb) were married on 20 May 1883 in Perry Co., Ohio.14,16
Alvin Cassius Berry was born on 29 March 1864 in Fairfield Co., Ohio.12,15,17 He appeared in the census on 14 June 1900 in Jackson Twp., Paulding Co., Ohio.17
The 1900 census has Alvin's family as: Alvin C. Berry [day laborer] a.36 b.Mar 1864, Emma J. a .35 b.Nov 1864, Edward S. a.16 b.Mar 1884, Allen J. a.13 b.Oct 1886, Harland W. a.11 b.Dec 1888, Elmer C. a.9 b.May 1891, Orville H. a.6 b.Aug 1893, Clarence J. a.4 b.Jan 1895 & Katey R. a.1 b.Feb 1899. The census shows Alvin & Emily being marred for 17 years with Emma having had 7 children with 7 alive in 1900. Alvin & Emily are living next to her first couisn Alphuis Manson in 1900.He appeared in the census on 15 April 1910 in Tobacco Twp., Gladwin Co., Michigan.18
The 1910 census has Alvin's family as: Alvin C. Berry [farmer] a.46, Emma a.45, Clement a.18, Katie a.11, Russell a.8 b.Michigan, Willis E. a.2 5/12 b.Michigan & Clarence a.14. The census shows Alvin & Emma being married for 25 years with Emma having had 9 children with 8 alive in 1910.Alvin died on 9 July 1936 at the age of 72 in Pontiac, Oakland Co., Michigan.19,20

Alvin's obituary reads:"ALVIN BERRY FUNERAL HELD AT 3 P.M. TODAY - Alvin Berry, formerly of' Pontiac, died at the Pontiac state Hospital at 9 p.m. Thursday. He was born in Ohio March 29, 1864. He married Emma Miller, who did not survive him. Mr. Berry had been a resident off Pontiac 30 years. Mr. Berry's surviving children are Edward of Ovid; Allen, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; Clement, of Flint; Clarence, of Lake Orion; .Russell of Clarkston, Mrs. Katharine Gilbert, of Rochester, and Mrs. Viola Nuernbarg, of' Clarkston. The funeral will take place at the Farmer funeral Parlors at 3 this afternoon. Burial win be in Oak Hill cemetery." He was buried on 11 July 1936 in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Pontiac, Oakland Co., Michigan.15,19
