Second Generation3. Catherine Anne "Kitty" Miller (Emily L. Manson-2, Capt. Jean Francois-1) was born in April 1867 in Fairfield Co., Ohio.10,24 Catherine Anne "Kitty" Miller and Joseph L. Bodell (son of Jonas Bodell and Mary Flemmings) were married in 1886 in Ohio.24Joseph L. Bodell was born on 7 July 1855 in New Market, Shenandoah Co., Virginia.24,28,29 He appeared in the census on 13 June 1900 in Diller, Jefferson Co., Nebraska.30 The 1900 census has Joseph's family as: Joseph Bodell [painter] a.44 b.Aug 1855 Virginia, Kittie A. a.33 b.April 1867 Ohio, Russell M. a.12 b.July 1887 Ohio & Max V. a.5 b.Feb 1875 Neb. The census shows Joseph & Kittie being married for 14 years with Kittie having had 2 children with 2 alive in 1900. He appeared in the census on 21 April 1910 in Diller, Jefferson Co., Nebraska.31 The 1910 census has Joseph's family as: Joseph Bodell [house painter] a.54, Kitty(sic) a.43 & Max V. a.15. The census shows Joseph & Kitty being married for 23 years with Kittie having had 2 children with 2 alive in 1910. Joseph died on 2 July 1915 at the age of 59 in Nebraska.19,32 He was buried on 5 July 1915 in the Broken Bow Cemetery, Broken Bow, Custer Co., Nebraska.19 Joseph's mother Mary's maiden surname is shown as Finnemore on her daughter Minerva's death record.
