      He appeared in the census on 23 April 1940 in Napa, Co., California.93 The 1940 census has Max's family as: M. V. Bodell [poultry farm] a.45 b.Neb. & Daisy a.39 b.Ca.
      Max appeared in a WW II draft registration record on 25 April 1942 in Santa Rosa, Sonoma Co., California.49 Max gives his address as 359 2Nd Street, Santa Rosa, Sanoma Co., Cal. He states that he was born in Diller Nebraska, and is employed by Zellers Cleaners at 108 4th St. in Santa Rosa. He lists Mrs. C. A. Vogel, Hagen Road, Napa, Cal. as the person who will always know his address. He is described as being 5' 7" tall, weighting 157 lbs., with brown eyes & hair, with light brown complexion. He is shown with a "birth mark back of right ear." He signed his name M. V. Bodell.
      He died on 26 June 1971 at the age of 76 in Napa, Napa Co., California.91
